VOLUNTEERING WITH THE CLUB

Henlopen Rush program cannot exist without its volunteer coaches. It is our coaches that make our program successful.

One of the essential functions of coaches is to manage team communications with players and their families. If you are a coach, we use the 360Player mobile app to efficiently and effectively communicate to your teams. 

For taking the time to coach a team, we will waive the fees for your child to play on your team. In order to qualify to coach in our rec program, you must complete a background check, concussion (Heads Up) training, and SafeSport training.

Getting Started:

1. Contact Gina Jennings gjennings@delmarvarush.com to let her know what age group you are interested in coaching. This step ensures there is a volunteer coach needed. You may move onto step two, while you are waiting on a response.
2. Visit gotsports
3. Create an account
4. Upload a photo and complete the form—keep going through checkout (there will be no charge to you)
5. Once you are registered, you will be able to find everything you need to complete in your dashboard. To get to each component, click on “details” next to the requirement.
   

6. Complete SafeSport, Background Check, Heads Up. If this is the first time you are taking the SafeSport training, it will take 90 minutes. You will want to use the links embedded in the dashboard because it will link directly to your DSYA account. Here are the screen shots to start the SafeSport and Head Up trainings.

7. Once you have completed Steps 2-5, please email Gina to confirm all requirements have been met through GotSport. A link will be provided for you to register your child for free once the requirements are met.
